I am a qualified, accredited and very experienced counsellor who offers one-to-one therapy for a wide range of issues. I am empathic, understanding and genuine and although I may occasionally gently challenge you, I am not critical or judgemental but aim to walk by the side of you offering support as we explore whatever you wish to bring to therapy.

There are times in life when we all need extra support. It is often easier for us to talk about life issues with someone who is completely impartial, who will maintain our confidentiality and is accustomed to hearing about people’s wide ranging experiences. I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to tell your story, to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and to find ways to move to a more fulfilling life.

My practice is informed from humanistic philosophy and comes from training and experience in using a number of therapy approaches such as Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and EMDR. I believe that by working collaboratively we will work out which approach is most appropriate for you.

Transactional Analysis is a useful approach in both personal and work relationship issues as it helps to raise awareness of how we are currently interacting with others. CBT helps you become aware of the origins of negative thinking and helps you change unwanted patterns of thinking and behaviour. It is an effective approach for anxiety, depression and work-related issues. EMDR is recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) to resolve symptoms resulting from traumatic experiences. It is used in the treatment of PTSD, abuse, phobias and traumatic bereavement.

My fee is £40.00
