Jo Pepper

Hello, my name is Jo and I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist.  I have been practicing for 5 years with experience of working in charities, the NHS, GP surgeries and a drug and alcohol service.  I worked for many years before this with Local Government and the Education, Voluntary and Faith sectors.

I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (NCS Accredited Course), a Certificate in Counselling and I am a BACP registered Member.

Counselling and psychotherapy can help you with problems you are experiencing now or from the past that may be troubling you.  It can offer you a place to explore and learn about yourself and any experiences which may be causing distress, pain or dissatisfaction.  Therapy gives you the opportunity to be heard and safely explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours which can bring about healing, improved wellbeing, growth and change.

We are all individuals with our own personalities, lived experiences, needs and aspirations.  As such, we and may require different approaches in therapy.  As an integrative therapist, I will work closely with you, offering a range of therapeutic approaches, tools and techniques that work best for you to help you make sense of your inner world and experiences. Understanding yourself can help in becoming compassionate towards yourself and developing ways in which you can look after and nurture yourself.

I draw on Gestalt and Transpersonal approaches in my work.  I enjoy working in creative ways and have experience of working with different aspects of the self which may uncover less conscious parts of you, visualisation, mindfulness  and working with the senses of the body.  Through these different approaches, I will be able to help you make sense of some of the things you may be experiencing.
