Cheryl Morrissey

I am a qualified and registered Integrative Psychotherapist working with children, adolescents and adults.
Understanding ourselves and where we fit in the world at times can feel overwhelming, years of conditioning and being told who we are and how we should be, especially when this just doesn’t feel right. I can offer a safe and judgement free space to reflect on and understand the person you are instead of the person you feel you should be. Understanding patterns of behaviours that we have developed over time as a way to make sense of who we are and how these same patterns might now be causing us difficulties or distress in our own lives.
I also am Neurodiversity affirming in my therapeutic approach with extensive experience of working with neurodivergent clients and tailoring my way of working to individual needs. Acceptance of difference goes far beyond acknowledgement, and I will always meet clients where they are.
I specialise in working with trauma and attachment wounds and have extensive experience of working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced adoption, care experienced or developmental trauma. I can offer parents space to reflect on how they parent and whether a more therapeutic approach would be beneficial to their family as well as understanding how their own
experience of being parented has impacted their parenting approach.
