Katie Kay

I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am a registered member of the BACP. Previously before becoming a trained counsellor, I worked as a Physiotherapist and in higher education. I retrained in counselling because of seeing the links between physical pain and mental wellbeing and saw first-hand providing an individual, a safe space to talk openly and freely about their distress (whether physical or emotionally) helps an individuals to change.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, self-confidence, study pressures, general feels of being overwhelmed or finding a transition in life difficult.

I believe giving a person a safe space, time and understanding the individual has the power and ability to develop and grow. I work as an integrative therapist; this means I have studied and integrated different counselling theories to provide a holistic approach. I work mainly within the therapeutic relationship allowing you to be heard, to hear yourself and process what’s happening for you.

This space gives time for reflection, to process your feelings and allows you to understand yourself at a deeper level. Counselling at times is a challenging process as I will encourage you to work on the parts of self that you feel unresolved or unhelpful.
