We are able to offer a short phone assessment if you wish to speak to a therapist to discuss which of our therapists are most likely to be able to help you with an issue.

*NB: You may have come to us with a recommendation to have DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), particularly for suspected or diagnosed Personality Disorders. A couple of therapists at Cornerstone can offer some one-to-one aspects of DBT as part of therapy; they cannot offer a full DBT programme which is what has the best evidence base, for a number of reasons. They can teach some ideas and principles which may be helpful, but not offer the full programme.

There are lots of components to how DBT is normally offered as part of a managed, specialised, programme. It is a manualized intervention designed to be delivered to a group: a skills group, plus skills consultation calls and a team of therapists. Full DBT programmes offer risk management, where risk is shared by the DBT team and the crisis team or NHS case-holder, because opening up the issues may make you more vulnerable to risk for a while. We cannot offer this comprehensive service and can only recommend that people access emergency services when there are issues around risk. You need to be aware that if a GP has recommended DBT, they might not be clear that one-to-one DBT doesn’t have the same power as the whole programme, and we cannot provide a like for like supportive service here.

Fees

Fees for individuals, couples and families vary depending on experience and specialism of the therapist. Fees can be found on each therapist’s profile.
Some therapists may offer lower cost sessions if required. Please contact us for more information.
