Alanna Rusch

Hello, my name is Alanna and I offer individual Therapy sessions in person to adults at Conerstone. I work to provide an open and supportive environment in finding your voice and direction in often confusing and conflicted areas of life. In bringing focus and attention to the emotional life of my clients I hope together to nurture self awareness that can blossom into new insights and perspectives that are more congruent with the self. Often we might find ourselves pulled in every direction or stuck in patterns despite our best efforts to change them. Therapy can provide a space set aside from everyday life to reflect on, investigate and process emotions in your own way and pace.

My approach is mainly psychodynamic and I believe that the power of the therapeutic relationship contained within a space to be reflective is very healing. I am trained and qualified as an art psychotherapist and registered with BAAT and HCPC. This means I have art materials available if clients wish to use them in sessions. This is your choice and if you would like to give it a try I can help support you in how to use any materials to get started. You needn’t have any experience with making art to be able to use the materials in a therapeutic way. Making art can help facilitate communication and self expression when we feel without words. Aswell, using our hands and creativity is both self regulating and a safe way to process difficult feelings or tap into our inner emotional world.
