I am an integrative therapist, a clinical supervisor to therapist and trainer. I believe difficulties arise in our lives for a whole variety of reasons. Many of us find ourselves in a situation where we are juggling work and home lives. Pressures difficult relationships and work stress can all lead to feelings of dissatisfaction despair and distress. Also symptoms such as depression and anxiety.

My aim is to provide an opportunity for people to develop strategies in the here and now to help them cope but also to enable a deeper understanding of self, and why certain situations may feel distressing and unmanageable. I frequently work in guided self exploration which enables people to overcome negative feelings that are affecting their lives. My desire is to provide a safe and secure environment where feelings can be expressed and explored. To find ways in which you can move from difficult dark places to a brighter and more fulfilling way of being.

I work as an integrative practitioner style with the counselling relationship at the centre. This means that my focus and attention is always with you my client and the sessions are geared to the changes you want to make in your life in ways that work for you. My career has included working as a senior therapist in a trauma and abuse service and through this work and additional training I have come to develop a keen interest and understanding in the link between our physical and emotional states. This informs my practice in facilitating the healing from the impact of early life experiences.

In my experience within the emergency services I have worked with clients who have work place problems and stresses that may spill over to home life. I also have experience working with clients who have problems following a traumatic event as well as anxiety stress bereavement and loneliness.
