About me
I am a white British man in my fifties and a father. I listen and offer a warm, positive and
accepting manner and seek to understand the strengths and diversity of individuals, couples,
children and families. From this we can develop ways forward to help clients with their goals.
What I can offer:
I work with all ages of individuals, couples, children, young people and parents/carers
emotional and mental health difficulties including those listed below.
Who I see and work with
Individual adults, children and young people
Couples
Families
We can agree together which individuals or combinations of family members or other
persons would be most helpful to work with.
Deciding if we work together
I offer a free 15 minute telephone chat to see if the kind of therapy I offer would be helpful,
how we might work together, to answer any questions and discuss any particular
requirements and preferences.
Working together:
Following an assessment of the situation the individual/ couple/ family is experiencing we
can identify goals and the goals of the therapy.
We can then think about how we might use our sessions including which family members
and persons to involve and the frequency of sessions.
I suggest we review our work at agreed intervals with reference to clients’ goals and to agree
the duration of our work.
Sessions:
I work with different combinations of individuals and family members on their goals. I
offer a safe, non-judgemental, confidential, accepting and positive space to talk, express
emotions and explore the particular needs of individuals and families. Not everyone finds
talking easy so we can adapt sessions, for example by using drawing, writing or play.
I offer face to face sessions at Cornerstone and/or telephone/ online sessions.

until 1996 and for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in community,
in-patient and day services from 1996 until 2023. During this time I worked with all of the
above mental health difficulties.
I have worked extensively with individuals, couples, parents and carers and their children to
understand and support them. This has involved understanding family relationships,
individual members’ needs and contexts such as school, peer and couples relationships.
Approaches I offer
Systemic family therapy including
Narrative
Solution-Focused
Strengths-based
Collaborative
Systemic family therapy involves talking about the relationships within the family, couple,
community and wider contexts and building on the strengths and resources within these
systems to help. I aim to be collaborative, work together with clients on their goals and
harness their strengths. I recognise the importance of diversity in relation to all clients
including gender, race and ability. I am aware of power and aim to empower people, boost
